Pain Into Punchlines: Mother's Day Edition
Mother’s Day is beautiful. And also… kind of a minefield.
It’s for the moms.
The almost-moms.
The “please stop asking me about kids” crowd.
The “my mom and I communicate exclusively through tension” folx.
It’s for people who are grieving.
People who are estranged.
People who are one text away from blocking a family group chat.
It’s for the “I love my mom, but…” people. (You know exactly who you are.)
And yes—even if your mom is amazing, this weekend still may feel a little loaded. You’re not broken. This is the room for you.
Pain Into Punchlines is a 90-minute live comedic workshop where we take the stuff that’s been sitting a little too heavy… and give it somewhere else to go. Maybe even laugh at something that used to feel untouchable.
Not because trauma is funny…but because it is ridiculous that we’re expected to just carry it around like it’s normal.
You don’t have to be funny.
You don’t have to share.
You don’t even have to make eye contact if it’s that kind of day.
Just show up.
What to expect:
90 minutes of guided writing, storytelling, and low-pressure sharing
Food + mimosas (non-alcoholic options—hydration is key)
Just 12 spots—small on purpose
Something meaningful to take with you when you leave
Note: We’ll be capturing a small amount of footage for a future promo reel, but your comfort and boundaries will always be the #1 priority.
Doors Open: 2:30 PM
