Earth Observation (EO) capabilities have advanced rapidly, but turning technical progress into sustained commercial adoption remains a major challenge.
This session will explore how EO companies can create value, where value is being captured across the EO value chain, which business models are proving effective, and what it takes to move from pilots to recurring operational use.
Topics to be discussed include:
Business models in EO: what’s working, what’s not, and why.
Where value accrues: across data, analytics, and applications.
Customer value and commercialisation: what customers are actually willing to pay for and how EO companies can position around their needs.
Long-term adoption: why many pilots fail to convert into recurring use, and what can help overcome those barriers.

About the speaker
Aravind Ravichandran is the Founder & CEO of TerraWatch Space Advisory and an Earth Observation strategist and advisor. He works with space agencies, EO companies, startups, investors and satellite data users across industries on strategy, commercialisation and EO adoption.
He is also the author of the TerraWatch Space newsletter and curator and lead organiser of EO Summit, a conference focused on applications of satellite data beyond the traditional EO community.
