Global Health and Development Learning Circle - Session 7
Session 7 (the last one!) - Global Health & Development Learning Circle: Exploring Human Progress together
Join the EA Global Health & Development community for a seven-part learning and discussion series based on David Nash’s course on "The History and Future of Human Progress". See here for more information on the course and its contents.
We’ll meet monthly on Zoom (seventh session: moved to 23rd of June, 19:00–20:30) to discuss one major theme each time — from vaccines and education to democracy and global governance.
This series is part course and part community space:
🌍 Learn through podcasts, videos, and readings at your own pace.
💭 Discuss key questions together in a relaxed, guided format.
🤝 Connect with others; from newcomers to experienced professionals, and share insights, frustrations, and creative ideas for the future of our field.
Each 1.5-hour session will include:
A short icebreaker;
Good news updates;
“Show & tell” of new findings in the global health and development field;
Guided discussion;
Takeaways.
For session 7: We will be discussing chapter 6 'Innovation & Metascience' AND chapter 7 'AI and the Future of Development' from David Nash' course. If you have the time, please go through
a few of the examples of innovation in chapter 6 (we will discuss them, but there are a couple of them, so come prepared)
an example of the most interesting way AI has been used in development projects, for examples check chapter 7
This is for:
Anyone passionate about global health and development, whether you already work in the field, are exploring a career pivot, or simply want to deepen your understanding of how humanity has progressed and where we can do better.
Sixth meeting: 23rd of June, 19:00–20:30 CET (moved from 16th of June)
Note: this is the last learning circle session! We already have great ideass for future events, so stay tuned for those.
