About Event

Reimagine AI by uncovering the political and social forces that shape it and what it could become if rooted in Black feminist thought.

Join us for a guest lecture by AI policy expert and poet Serena Dokuaa Oduro as she poses the question “Do we need AI or do we need Black feminisms?” Drawing from her poetic guide published in the book Fake AI and her work advocating for AI governance on the national and state level, Serena will root our conception of AI in the political and social forces that guide its development and help us explore what it would look like for technological development to be rooted in Black feminist interests.

Popcorn, candy, and a wine bar will be available. Donations are encouraged with a portion of proceeds benefitting Free Black Women’s Library.

A limited number of free and discounted tickets are available for those who need them and/or would like to volunteer. Please contact us at [email protected] to inquire.
