About Event

From Mary: I was 5 years old the first time I knew I wanted to write a book. But I was FORTY the year my first book, Dirt, came out. What took up the space in between? FEAR. Mostly the fear of not even knowing HOW to go about getting a publishing deal. It all felt too overwhelming, too colossal, to even start. But, like I tell all my writing students, "We think we have to have everything figured out before we can even get started.

The truth is, we have to get started IN ORDER to figure everything out!" I eventually would go on to sign a now SIX book publishing deal with my publisher... and I have written FOUR of those books in the last five years.

Whew! I have basically gotten my PhD in Publishing these last few years... and so much of that is learning what NOT to do. So I have put together my Top 10 Things You NEED to Know About Getting a Publishing Deal... and I will be breaking them ALL down for you in this call!

\IN THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL LEARN:

-How to Set Clear Platform Goals Before Reaching Out to Publishers

-What Publishers Are REALLY Looking For in a Proposal

-How to Articulate Your Hook (aka your Unique Selling Proposition) to Stand Out in the Crowd
