Available funding: $11,000,000
Award range: $2.5M–$5.5M per project
Match requirement: Minimum 20% of CEC funds
Eligible Project Types
Low-Carbon, Grid-Flexible Energy-Powered DAC: DAC systems powered by renewables, waste heat, or zero-carbon fuels that flex capture activity with grid conditions
DAC Integrated with Other CDR Pathways: Ocean-based methods, mineralization or geologic storage, or biomass/algae pre-capture paired with DAC as the primary performance driver (non-DAC costs are match only)
Modular or Mobile DAC Units: Containerized or transportable systems for remote/distributed deployment with minimal maintenance and reduced toxic solvents
Co-Located DAC at California Hubs, Industrial Facilities, or Waste Sites: Ambient-air DAC at industrial or waste-handling sites using byproducts or waste heat as process inputs (no point source capture)
