Designing Capital for Youth Leadership | DPW 2026 Virtual Session
About Dasra Philanthropy Week 2026, Mumbai:
As India advances toward its Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, progress will be shaped by how deeply the country listens to its communities and how intentionally philanthropy amplifies them. India for the World, World for India reflects this belief: that solutions grounded in lived experience and civil society leadership can accelerate India’s development and inspire beyond its borders. Dasra Philanthropy Week builds on this momentum by convening changemakers to elevate community insights, address systemic barriers, and drive collective action toward a more inclusive and future-ready India.
About The Session | Designing Capital for Youth Leadership: What Must Change for Philanthropy in South Asia
South Asia is home to one of the world’s largest youth populations, yet philanthropic capital continues to be structured in ways that limit youth agency, continuity, and scale. This session examines why youth leadership—widely recognized as critical to long-term development—remains constrained by short-term, compliance-heavy, and adult-centric funding models. Drawing on lived experiences and regional practice, the discussion will explore how philanthropy can shift from youth-serving to genuinely youth-led approaches. Panelists will explore and surface concrete shifts needed to enable youth leadership as an end in itself, not merely a means to other outcomes.
