Future Worlds: Founder fireside chat with Dr Joshua Steer
What does it really take to go from a researcher with a passion, to growing an international startup making a difference to the lives of thousands?
Dr Joshua Steer has done just that, going from the bioengineering labs at the University of Southampton to launching and scaling Radii Devices, a spinout based on his research into biomechanical simulations.
Joshua graduated with a PhD in Bioengineering from Southampton in 2020, where he continues as a Visiting Research Fellow and member of the Engineering Industrial Advisory Board.
Radii provide software for AI-driven fitting of custom medical devices, such as prosthetics and orthotics. Since spinning out from the University, their software, riiForm, is used to fit prosthetics across the world, with key partners such as the US Department of Veteran Affairs and HP 3D Printing.
We are delighted to have Joshua joining us back on campus to share insights from his startup journey; join us for an inspiring evening during which you can put your questions to Joshua.
This event is open to all, and highly recommended to anyone with an interest in startups, founder stories, MedTech, or research impact.
