Break Free from Loneliness: Practical Ways to Build Connection and Belonging with Nicholas Hebert, LCSW
Loneliness can feel heavy, even in a crowded room.
More than half of us experience it today. It’s that quiet ache of being unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. It’s scrolling through social media and wondering why everyone else seems so connected.
These feelings are signals that your mind and habits have fallen into patterns that amplify isolation: overthinking, negative self-talk, and withdrawing when you actually crave connection.
This free MHM Community Event will help you break free of the mental traps that deepen loneliness and replace them with tools to build real connection with yourself and the world around you.
With guidance from a licensed therapist and encouragement from others who know what it’s like to feel lonely, you’ll explore:
Why loneliness happens and the mental patterns that make it worse.
How to interrupt negative thought loops that reinforce isolation and replace them with new patterns that foster a sense of belonging.
Practical strategies to feel connected to others, even in small everyday moments.
Real stories and personal approaches that help others navigate loneliness and feel more supported.
You’ll leave with actionable tools to break free from cycles of loneliness, a clearer perspective on your social patterns, and practical ways to feel more connected in your daily life.
This event is 90 minutes long, with cameras on. Participants are encouraged to introduce themselves (first names only), and share as they feel comfortable.
