HKS Alumni Virtual Get-together: AI Policy and Politics - Now Until 2028
About the gathering:
The next two years will be pivotal for positively shaping the impacts of AI on our societies.
Many HKS alumni are working on these issues in policy, politics, industry, and as public mobilizers.
We're hosting this space to connect, understand what we're all working towards, and identify ways of coming together as a community to amplify each other's impact.
We're especially motivated to see elected officials and AI policy practitioners constructively in the same room.
What to expect:
The session will include:
Brief introductions to the people and work represented in the room
Small-group conversations organized around current AI policy questions
Opportunities to share a policy challenge, project, or area where support would be useful
Introductions to people with relevant knowledge, experience, or institutional connections
A closing discussion identifying ideas and relationships worth carrying forward
Who this is for:
Elected officials, candidates, and public-sector leaders engaging with AI-related questions
Researchers and policy practitioners working on AI policy, governance, law, economics, safety, or public-sector adoption
Private-sector professionals with AI policy interest
