About Event

Watch a live Data Science interview. Unscripted, no do-overs, no home-field advantage.

Then watch it get taken apart, honestly, by someone who actually hires for these roles.

That's the premise. Employed.World is putting a real candidate through a real Data Science interview, live, followed by an unfiltered evaluation of what worked, what didn't, and what a hiring-side interviewer is actually screening for right now, not what career content assumes she's screening for.

AI is changing Data Science faster than most job seekers are adjusting to. The tools are shifting, and so are the skills that get you shortlisted. Writing clean Python and building a solid model, the stuff most candidates over-index on, is no longer the differentiator. It's the entry fee. What actually separates a callback from an offer is something else now, and most people prepping for interviews aren't being told what that is.

This session is Employed.World's attempt to show you, not tell you.

What happens

Employed.World brings together a live Data Science mock interview, an honest evaluation of it, and a working conversation about building a Data Science career in the AI era. The session is hosted by Yashvir Chawla, Founder of Employed.World, and moderated by Dr. Promit Ray, Data Scientist and AI Coach consulting for Employed.World.

For this session, Promit steps out of the moderator's chair and into the candidate's seat. Our guest interviewer, Dr. Cristina Leonardo, Product Manager at CLADE, will run him through a realistic interview, then break down what worked, what didn't, and what she'd actually be looking for if this were a live hire, drawing on her own path through scientific research, machine learning, and AI-driven product work.

From there, the conversation opens up: what does it really take to build and sustain a Data Science career right now, without chasing every new framework or burning out trying to keep up?

The goal isn't to hand you a checklist. It's to show you, in real time, the gap between what most candidates prepare for and what's actually being assessed, so your next interview isn't a guessing game.

🎯 THIS IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You're getting interviews but not offers, and can't tell why

  • You're not sure which skills are worth your time versus which are hype

  • You're switching into Data Science or AI and don't know what "good" actually looks like in an interview

  • You're experienced but sense the goalposts have moved and want to reposition

🎤 MODERATED BY

Dr. Promit Ray Data Scientist, AI Practitioner & Data Science Coach

Promit is a Data Science and AI practitioner and consultant leading Employed.World's Data Room and coaching initiative, helping professionals navigate a fast-moving AI job market with more clarity and less guesswork. He's worked the full length of the Data Science ladder, from Data Engineer to Data Science Lead to Head of Data Science, before stepping into AI consulting and entrepreneurship, where he now coaches candidates from the outside looking in. That combination, having hired for these roles and now working independently across AI and career coaching, is what shapes his read on where the job market and hiring bar are actually headed. For this session, he will trade the moderator's chair for the candidate's seat.

🎙️ GUEST INTERVIEWER

Dr. Cristina Leonardo Product Manager, CLADE

Cristina's path runs through scientific research, machine learning, and AI-driven product development: a PhD background applying ML to real scientific problems, now working at the intersection of technology, product, and customer need. She sits exactly where most candidates get stuck, the gap between technical capability and real-world value, and that's the lens she brings to this interview.

About Employed.world:

We support the design and product community in Berlin by connecting them with empathic mentors, job coaches, and professionals who are currently working - or have worked - in companies across the city and have been involved in hiring. We also connect you with current hiring managers, giving you the chance to receive guidance and feedback tailored to your personal challenges. From speaking with job seekers, we’ve learned that many lack clear, honest feedback on their profiles and applications. Some need help identifying their strengths so they can stand out among hundreds of candidates. Others feel there just aren’t enough relevant opportunities and wonder: what’s the strategy to find—or even create—the right role for you?
We also offer a 1:1 mentorship program funded by the Agentur für Arbeit/Jobcenter, through the job center.
