HOME SWAP STORIES is taking over 4 vintage furniture stores in Brooklyn for Climate Week NYC. Join us for a multi-location event focused on the importance of taking individual action inside your home. Every store is open for you to explore the following activations:

While this event is a choose-your-own-path type, all 4 locations are open 1-5pm to explore, shop, sip, and dine, there are 2 scheduled activations that don’t run the full duration. Catch the Susty @ Home Panel at 2pm and the “Sense of Home” Listening Circle at 3:30pm.

Get inspired by New Yorkers with creative sustainable living practices through an exciting panel discussion focused on finding secondhand furniture, creating your own food sources, and saving energy. Led by Yelle Belle, the host of HOME SWAP STORIES, this conversation features the founders and creators behind local zero-waste grocery concepts, plant-based culinary education, and environmental storytelling.

📍Location: AGAIN VINTAGE in Bed-Stuy is a beautifully curated vintage home decor shop that also features the in-house SUBLIME Café with locally-roasted coffee + espresso, handcrafted adaptogenic herbal beverages, and a food menu built on sustainably sourced, mostly local ingredients. Together, Again Vintage and SUBLIME share a core belief: the rituals you keep, the objects you surround yourself with, and the food you consume are all design decisions.
Climate Cafe "Sense of Home" Listening Circle
3:30-4:30pm
Gather round with CLIMATE CAFE NYC, the social home of climate action. Get help facing your climate anxiety and connect with impactful local organizers. Climate cafes are listening circles for your climate-linked emotions. The topic of this listening circle is "Sense of Home." Climate Cafe will help you transform complex feelings associated with displacement and injustice. We will start with a guided meditation to envision the best possible future. Together in community, we can make our home a better place to live.

After the Climate Cafe, enjoy live music by INANNA, ARTivist and singer for nature, animals & planet Earth.
📍 Location: CHYELLE is a vintage furniture store and cafe in Bushwick known for its cozy, community-focused atmosphere and unique, secondhand home goods. Run by Chyelle Milgrom of @fbmarketslut fame, it’s a vibrant hybrid space where you can browse and test out furniture while enjoying specialty coffee, design inspiration, and a welcoming social hub.
Home Goods Upcycling Workshop
1-5pm (start crafting whenever)
Transform a secondhand vessel into a vase using discarded art materials with BROOKLYN CREATIVE REUSE. Not only will you keep unwanted items in circularity, you’ll get to fill your vase with flowers rescued from other completed events and donated by GROUNDCYCLE. Nourish your creativity and take action with your hands — no crafting experience required.
📍 Location: BIG REUSE in Bushwick operates as a community-focused thrift center dedicated to keeping usable items local and out of landfills. The space features a curated selection of home goods, books, and clothing donated by neighbors, which are sold at low costs to ensure sustainable living remains accessible to everyone.
Sustainable Living Live Recording
1-5pm
Go deeper into what living sustainably at home means in the greater context of the world with DEEPER IMPACT PRODUCTIONS / THE SUSTAINABLE WAY. Closer to the event, you'll sign up for a 15-min time slot to record a video that inspires action, plus the audience will quietly listen in.
📍 Location: BROOKLYN VINTAGE COMPANY in Bushwick is known for unique quality items from their mid-century modern furniture and decor to vinyl records and vintage clothing and accessories from various eras. The store is located in a former sewing needle factory.

In NYC, I can choose to buy secondhand furniture from a local vintage shop. I cannot choose whether my rental is powered by gas or electric.
