This session breaks down the critical trade-offs - consistency, scalability, data access patterns, and replication—and how they impact latency, reliability, and predictability.
Using real-world examples, we’ll present a vendor-neutral framework to evaluate databases against actual workloads, highlight common anti-patterns, and show how better alignment with SLAs improves performance, resilience, and engineering efficiency.

Speakers’ Bios
Nati Cohen is a Solutions Architect with AWS. He delights in helping customers simplify complex systems, explaining the inner workings of cloud services, and debugging challenging technical issues. Outside of work, he enjoys soldering electronic kits, tinkering with small computers, and drumming on a Taiko.
Dominique Ronde is a Staff Solution Engineer at Confluent, a pioneer in enterprise event-streaming platforms. With previous roles as a Big Data Architect and Data Scientist at freeyou, SAP, and Allianz, Dominique brings deep expertise in digital transformation, Java, AWS, and Apache Kafka®. Since 2016, he has worked extensively with Apache Flink and currently serves as a subject matter expert in the APAC region. Dominique is a frequent speaker at conferences worldwide, with a recent focus on innovative data use cases in the insurance industry. Outside of work, he enjoys experimenting with Arduino microcontrollers, IoT home devices, and traveling.
Oshrat Ben Avi Zabludovitz is Israel Country Manager at Aerospike. She leads one of the company’s most strategic markets and brings over 15 years of experience empowering customers, driving successful projects, and building trusted partnerships. Oshrat draws on a strong technical background from her time in the IDF’s C4I division and from product management roles. She is passionate about delivering real customer value, connecting communities, and championing women’s leadership in tech and sales.
