About Event

SFC and Mission Robotics are getting together in San Francisco on October 22 to explore what it takes to bring robots into the real world.

As robots gain new capabilities, the next question is how to turn those capabilities into useful, reliable behavior. What does deployment demand from a robotic system? How should robots understand their surroundings, handle unfamiliar situations, and work within real-world workflows?

Join us for technical talks and open discussion on robotics deployment and the emerging approaches shaping how robots perceive, reason, and act—including the use of LLM-based coding agents for embodied tasks.

The evening brings together perspectives on spatial memory and navigation, coding agents for robotics, and the workflow knowledge needed to automate work in domains such as automotive repair. We'll discuss what these approaches can enable, where the limitations remain, and what it takes to move from research and experiments toward practical applications.

Food and drinks will be provided, with plenty of time to meet other people building in robotics and Physical AI.

Who Should Attend

Researchers, engineers, founders, and practitioners working on or interested in:

  • Robotics deployment and real-world applications

  • Robot learning, autonomy, and embodied AI

  • LLM agents, robot reasoning, and task execution

  • Spatial intelligence, perception, and navigation

  • Data, workflows, and evaluation for robotic systems

If you're building, researching, or deploying robots—or exploring how emerging AI methods could help—you're welcome to join the conversation.

Featured Speakers

Jeff Hykin & Aaryan Agrawal — Dimensional

Jeff Hykin — Member of Technical Staff, Dimensional
Aaryan Agrawal — Robotics Software Engineer, Dimensional

Jeff builds robot navigation and spatial memory systems at Dimensional and is finishing his PhD in AI robotics at Texas A&M. Aaryan brings experience deploying robots in the real world, including humanoid and robot OS deployments at Dimensional, and delivery, cleaning, and mowing robots as co-founder of Service Robot Co.

Jeff and Aaryan will introduce Hyperspace and share how creating and querying semantic voxel embeddings in real time can support spatial intelligence, map building, and relocalization.

Brian Tsui — Independent Researcher

FAEA: Frontier Agent as Embodied Agent

Brian Y Tsui is an independent robotics researcher with a PhD from UC San Diego. His work with collaborators on FAEA: Frontier Agent as Embodied Agent explores how a native coding agent such as Claude Code can be used for embodied tasks.

Brian will share his team's perspective as robotics outsiders—from biology and general AI—on why they began exploring coding agents for robotics, where they see the approach heading, and what it could mean for small teams and startups.

Brian also works as an Applied Scientist at AWS on Agentic AI. He is presenting this independent research in a personal capacity.

Louis Hart-Davis — Co-founder & CTO, Marv Labs

“What It Will Take for Robots to Fix Cars”

Louis builds AI wearables that automate inspection videos and paperwork for automotive technicians. He'll share how Marv is selecting a first repair to automate, extracting structured workflows from professional repair footage, and collecting relevant data through a product that mechanics use. His talk will explore the role of domain-specific workflow knowledge, exception handling, and verification in reliable robot deployment, alongside planned experiments and opportunities for collaboration.

Call for Speakers

We're also looking for a few more speakers for the evening.

If you're working on robotics deployment, embodied agents, or a new approach to robot intelligence, we'd love to hear what you're building or learning. Deployment experience, a research project, technical demo, product, or recent experiment can all make a good session. It doesn't need to be a formal presentation.

If you'd like to speak, select the “Speaker” option when registering on Luma and tell us briefly what you'd like to share. Feel free to include a link to your paper, project, demo, or website.

We'll reach out to selected speakers directly.

About the Hosts

Spatial Frontier Club

Spatial Frontier Club is a Bay Area community focused on Spatial Intelligence, Physical AI, World Models, Robotics, Embodied AI, Simulation, and 3D technology.

We host technical talks, research discussions, dinners, and community events around these areas, and we’re always happy to meet more people working on interesting problems.

Mission Robotics

Mission Robotics is building the beating heart of robotics in the Mission, bringing together the leading builders, founders, and mad scientists making embodied AI a reality. If your robot got you kicked out of a WeWork, we want you here.

Registration

This is a curated gathering with limited capacity.

Please register using your current affiliation and tell us a little about what you’re working on or why you’re interested in joining. We’ll review registrations as they come in.
