About Event

Saturday October 18th 7pm-1:30am. Secret location. Join us for a seismic night spanning experimental electronic sound, movement, and contemporary art practice. The language of pressure, spoken in light.

azumi O E + threehz open. We saw glimpses of the sublime during azumi O E’s strobing butoh performance at Dripping this year. Join us as we descend further into her subterranean dreamworld, this time soundtracked by Lot Radio resident threehz’s pulsating hybrid psychedelia.

In her own work, and as a member of Sidra Bell Dance Company, Kimie Parker uses contemporary dance techniques to highlight and distort the human anatomy. Fresh off her presentation of work at ODC in San Francisco, she’s set to pull us in with kinesthetic imagery that oscillates between weight and weightlessness.

Next, bongowattz ruptures us through an insurgent unquantized activation of noise, shadow, movement, and electronic modular sound. Come prepared for liberatory spiritual entertainment.

Then we shift the stage, and Løt.te presents a rare live set of shattered, volcanic breakbeat. His label AI–F releases music and sound works that explore use of technology by and against oppressors. Join us as we shed light on this shadowy force.

Closing the night, Marteka Fair arrives from NC to drive home the pressure with weighty selections from deep in her crate. Fresh off appearances at Slingshot Festival and The Great Beyond, Marteka will architect a closing of raw percussive structure and temporal tension.

As part of our spatial transformation, Pittsburgh native Allie E.S. Wist will install sculptural work that spans multiple sensory registers. Currently, Allie is an interdisciplinary arts PhD candidate at RPI.

H̴e̴a̴t̴ ̴I̴n̴d̴e̴x̴ measures the felt experience of air temperature combined with humidity. This experimental performance series allows leftfield electronic music to breathe through a fabric of space, light, material, and movement. Sound is texture, light is membrane, time is material, and movement is the fold between interior and exterior experience.

A portion of ticket sales will go to the conspire mutual aid fund, which provides the infrastructure to support the amplification of life-affirming and experimental artistic expression. Currently this fund will be used to fund an experimental production class taught by one of the elders in our community.
