About Event

Build an AI agent. Show us what it does. Win a ticket to the AI for Science Summit.

Agent tooling is exploding right now — BenchClaw, LabOS, ClawInstitute, Hermes, Paperclip, and a dozen more landing every month. At our last cell cultivation hack, two OpenClaw agents came out of it: one that programmed a robotic workcell, and one that worked as a scientific personal assistant. We want to see what else is possible.

This is a build challenge. Make something, demo it, ship it open source.

What to build

An agent with a loop and tools, applied to a specific use case. Stack-agnostic: OpenClaw, Hermes, Paperclip, roll your own, whatever.

We care about the idea and the demo, not the framework. Think about how you evaluate the results.

Guidelines

  • Build a proof of concept and prototype to demo

  • Prep a 3min Loom video demo to share

  • Make the GitHub repo open source

Submit the loom video and GitHub repo here by April 30th 11:59p PT

What we're looking for

  • Clear use case

  • Creative solution

  • Something a scientist, lab, researcher, or hardware team could actually imagine using

Rough edges are fine. We'd rather see a real idea half-built than a polished demo of nothing.

Prizes

Top 3 builds win free tickets and a chance to demo for the AI for Science Summit (June 16–17, SF). Two days with 100+ founders, builders, and researchers building scientific agents, lab automation, and AI-driven research.

Why we're running this

  • The fastest way to understand where agents are going is to build one. This is an excuse to do that.

Hosts

  • Worldwide Studios is a CA 501c3 education non profit helping people build with the latest in AI, hardware, robotics, and applied sciences. They're hosting a 2 day AI for Science Summit in SF, June 16-17.
