BLOCK71 Lunch Club: Epic Disruptions with Scott D. Anthony
Join us for a power‑fuelling lunch session with Scott to learn how to harness disruption’s patterns and ignite your startup’s next breakthrough.
Since Sir Francis Bacon praised the compass, gunpowder and the printing press in 1620, disruptive innovations have continued to reshape our world. Today, technologies like artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, alternative proteins and autonomous vehicles continue that legacy. Yet despite the shifting tech landscape, disruption follows a predictable rhythm.
In this Lunch Club session, Scott D. Anthony, innovation expert and author of Epic Disruptions: 11 Innovations That Shaped Our Modern World, will take you on a journey through world‑changing breakthroughs. From gunpowder to disposable diapers and from Julia Child to Steve Jobs, Scott reveals the common patterns that separate fleeting inventions from lasting transformations. He’ll explore how disruption rewards patient innovators, how it can improve—and sometimes worsen—our world, and how leaders can harness change instead of being overwhelmed by it.
