【tffBerlin 2026】The House of Onomatopoeia – Berlin 狀聲詞的家屋－柏林

​Created and artistically directed by YANG Yu-Chiao, The House of Onomatopoeia – Berlin grows from sounds of home gathered during a workshop held one day before the performance. YANG Yu-Chiao, LIN Hui-Chun, Romain C. BERTHEAU, Ligia LIBERATORI, and TSOU Yu-Sheng transform these personal memories through voice, percussion, cello, electronics, objects, poetry, reading, and improvisation.

​The work brings different languages and memories into the same space without asking them to become a single story. Each sound helps build the house again.

​Concept, Artistic Direction, Vocals, Percussion: YANG Yu-Chiao 楊雨樵

​YANG Yu-Chiao 楊雨樵 is a narrative and sound artist researching the narratology of oral literature. He combines storytelling, vocal performance, extended oral techniques, and blackboard writing to create experimental audiovisual works focused on onomatopoeia, ideophones, and auditory literature. His work has been presented across Europe and Asia, and he is a Teaching Artist at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying).

​Performer: Ligia LIBERATORI

​Ligia LIBERATOR is a singer, improviser, performer and composer specializing in extended vocal techniques and the relationship between music and movement. Her practice combines experimental voice, acrobatics and scenic performance. Working between Berlin and Buenos Aires, she collaborates internationally and currently performs in Lina Lapelyté’s We Make Years out of Hours at the Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum of Contemporary Art.

​Cello, Vocals: LIN Hui-Chun 林惠君

​LIN Hui-Chun 林惠君 is a cellist and composer specializing in improvised and interdisciplinary performance. Her practice spans improvisation, Echtzeitmusik, contemporary, experimental, world and noise music. Inspired by nature and science, she creates graphic scores for improvisers and performs with ensembles including Ensemble Discoveries, Hunter Underwater, and Fat Cat and Drunk Mouse.

​Electronics: Romain C. BERTHEAU

​Romain C. BERTHEAU is a composer, pianist and organist whose work combines contemporary composition, radical improvisation, organ and no-input mixer electronics. Treating instruments as living entities, he emphasizes subtle textures, sonic detail and spatial dialogue. He also founded Organ Sequences, Berlin’s experimental and contemporary organ music series.

​Poesie, Lesung: TSOU Yu-Sheng 鄒佑昇

​Yu-Sheng Tsou 鄒佑昇 holds a doctorate in Buddhist Studies from LMU Munich. Using Luhmannian systems theory, he examines epistemological and poetic entanglements in Esoteric Buddhist ritual. His poetry generates quasi-texts. Publications notably include A Brief Commentary on the Calendar of the Greatest Unfolding and die sich vereinende deckung.
