Shouting Out Loud: An Evening with Ana da Silva and Shirley O'Loughlin - Night #1

​The girls are screaming, joining a long line of women who have raised their voices in exasperation, anger, fury, frustration, protest, and catharsis.

​One of those women, Ana da Silva of The Raincoats, helped shape the timeless notion that punk is what you make it to be—an act of raw expression, not any one sound.

​We are thrilled to welcome Ana da Silva and Shirley O'Loughlin to Well Read for 2 nights of conversation celebrating Shouting Out Loud, the first biography of The Raincoats, a must-have account of the legendary band that holds a vital place in twentieth and twenty-first century sonic history.

​The conversations will be accompanied by NOISE, an exhibition (Well Read's first!) of Ana's paintings.
