Practical AI London Workshop: From Curious to Capable
In person Workshop - London
Thursday 23rd July 10:00 - 16:15PM, Borough Yards, London SE1
A full day with a small group!
Quality time to experiment, get curious and build your confidence.
This workshop will mainly focus on ChatGPT and Claude, but everything is transferrable across any Gen AI tool you use. Let me know what tool you have access too in the registration form!
I carried out a survey across event freelancers professionals and agency teams earlier this year. 76% had received no formal AI training, and 50% said the biggest thing holding them back was:
Lack of relevant training with clear use cases
Not having the time to onboard themselves or explore
Uncertainty of tools, data and guardrails
Almost 90% said they were just using chat tools for writing and drafting emails - which is useful, but it's barely scratching the surface.
The gap isn’t access anymore, it’s knowing what to actually do with it in your day-to-day.
This is a focused session to get you set up so you’re not second guessing, wasting time, or ending up with generic output you have to fix afterwards.
You'll walk away with
A review of the big 4 - understanding which might work best for you
The groundwork for your own AI assistant, shaped in the session, built to partner with
A prompting toolkit & technique to get better outputs
Your own brand voice document
An understanding of tool safety and data considerations
Time to try things, ask questions, and learn from the room
Confidence, Clarity and Capability. You'll be set up to get more out your AI tools so you can work more efficiently
The Agenda (TBC, firmer timings confirmed day before)
10:00 - 11:15AM: The lay of the land (Curiosity) - Understand how AI actually works (non technical version), compare ChatGPT and Claude (and where Gemini fits in), focus on your tool of choice and make sure your personalisation is set up
11:15-11:25PM Break
11:25 - 12:30PM: Stop prompting like Google & create your brand voice and toolkit (Confidence and Clarity) - This is where most people realise what they've been missing, avoid generic outputs by understanding structured prompts. We work through the CRAFTE framework with real event scenarios and create a prompting toolkit!
12:30 - 12:55PM Lunch (not included, but plenty of spots nearby, or feel free to bring something with you!)
12:55 - 14:00PM You build a brand voice document so every output sounds like you.
14:00 - 14:10PM Break
14:10 - 15:30PM Begin building your AI assistant (Capability) Watch a live build of an AI assistant (Custom GPT) - like a Running Order Assistant, Email comms assistant - built from scratch. Then begin shaping your own to master repeatable tasks
15:30 - 15:40PM Break
15:30 - 16:00PM Building your own. You leave with the groundwork of an AI assistant set up for your actual work. I'll show you some examples of mine too!
16:00 - 16:15PM Close
Working with me
I have 14 years of events experience across agency, in-house, programme development and change and adoption. I have completed three advanced Gen AI certifications with MMC Learning, AI training courses, Judge for Event Tech Live: AI edition, delivered AI activations for Salesforce CMOs and have worked alongside Anthropic on their CEO forum.
I know our world and I know the pain points; client demands, proposals, timelines, RFPs, sourcing, resourcing. This bootcamp is built around those problems specifically.
AI is not going anywhere and neither is the pressure to use it well. This is full day to get properly set up, in a room full of people who get your world :)
Feedback from my last bootcamp
"I loved the real world event examples that you used as it helped me visualise where I can improve my workflow better with AI." Project Director, Practical AI Bootcamp
"I have learnt SO MUCH and feel much more confident in where I could get to. THANK YOU." Exec Producer
"THANK YOU! It was a brilliant dive into all things AI for me, and you shared so much information. I'm still digesting! I feel way better informed now." Project Director
"The course was seriously good value and worth every penny, and I loved your energy and warmth." Project Director
"Excellent course, I was suffering from 'AI Overwhelm' - didn't know where I should start. This gave me the information and confidence to set me on my journey." Exec Producer
How it works
I keep it practical, you follow along, get hands-on, and work through real event scenarios throughout.
There is Q&A and the mix of freelancers and agency staff in the room tends to spark good conversations. You will pick up as much from each other as from the content itself.
When you register you will fill in a short survey so I know who is in the room and can make the sessions as relevant as possible.
You'll need access to a paid Chat GPT account in order to create your AI Assistant (Custom GPT), the free tier lets you use GPTs but not build them, so the alternative is building a Claude Project instead. If you're working primarily in a different tool, just let me know when you register, what we learn can be used across all of the tools.
Who is this for?
Anyone working in events, experiential, or live brand work, whether you are freelance, agency-side, or somewhere in between.
Event Producers, Senior Producers and Executive Producers
Project Managers and Project Directors
Production Managers and Operations Leads
Account Managers and Client Services teams
Creative Directors, Designers and Strategists
You do not need to be technical. You just need to be curious.
I hope to see you there!
