​"Alex De Bruycker’s artistic work is characterized by the way in which he enables a dialogue between two positions at several levels. He allows seemingly incompatible points of view to enter into a visual dialogue with each other, pursuing their symbiosis.

​This pursuit of dialogue creates a dynamic that appears to be responsible for the multiple layers that make his artworks so characteristic. It is the power of this layering by which the viewer can experience his work at the same instance as a pure aesthetic experience and as a reflection of various contemplative, philosophical forces. This layering and openness in his work allows the viewer to develop their own and open narrative with regard to his artworks."
