Scaling AI, Not Infrastructure: Serverless RL for Specialized LLMs Hans Ramsl, Sr. AI Solutions Engineer @ Weights & Biases As enterprise AI moves beyond generic models, "On-the-job" Reinforcement Learning (RL) is becoming essential for teaching domain-specific reasoning when fine-tuning data is scarce. Yet, the burden of managing GPU clusters and deployment scripts often stalls experimentation before it begins. Explore how a Serverless RL architecture abstracts away these infrastructure bottlenecks, dropping training cold start latency from minutes to mere seconds. Hans will dive into automated reward frameworks like RULER and share real-world case studies showing how software teams can rapidly train and deploy highly specialized, low-latency LLMs without needing to become distributed computing experts.
Earth Observation at Scale: Integrating Prefect and Anyscale Justin, Software Engineer @ LiveEO LiveEO leverages AI and high-resolution satellite imagery to monitor massive infrastructure networks like power grids and railways. In this talk, Justin will share insights into the exciting challenges the engineering team is tackling at LiveEO. He will also dive into how they successfully integrated Prefect with Anyscale to seamlessly orchestrate and scale their heavy, data-intensive machine learning workflows in production.
