In our next episode of Inside the Canton Network, we're joined by Aki Balogh, CEO of BitSafe, to dig into a problem that sits just past privacy: who actually runs the thing, and what happens when they can't?
Canton's privacy model gives asset issuers real control over who sees what. But control without continuity isn't much use to an issuer, privacy alone doesn't keep a network running when a node fails. Aki will walk us through DecMan, BitSafe's answer to that gap, and how it lets issuers keep Canton's default privacy guarantees while distributing operational risk across a curated set of Canton and BitSafe approved node operators.
Aki will take us through what DecMan is built to do:
High availability — keeping an application running when an operator goes down
Shared custody — MPC wallets and token vaults, with no single party holding the asset
Administration — decentralised governance, and the DeFi constructs it makes possible
And the questions underneath them: why privacy and resilience are separate problems, how you spread operational risk without weakening confidentiality, and what a curated operator set means in practice for issuers and infrastructure providers.
