Polemicus Society: Innovation with Adam Thierer
Technological innovations change the world. Free marketers tend to believe that those changes, though disruptive at times, will make our lives better on balance, and that changemakers shouldn't have to seek prior permission from the government.
But with corporate America putting its innovative powers to use on things like the Instagram Reels algorithm, the KFC x Oreo chicken sandwich, and noisy data centers in my backyard, should policymakers still be content to let the future unfold on its own, or should they be taking steps to ensure the "right" future emerges?
Adam Thierer wrote the book on the free market concept of "Permissionless Innovation." At the Polemicus Society's next dinner and debate workshop, we'll present Adam with tough questions about whether continuous innovation really makes our lives better.
Doors open and dinner begins at 5:30. The discussion begins at 6:00 PM.
This is a private event. Participants must RSVP and be approved in order to attend.
