Energy Investor Roundtable with SEforALL
SAVE the DATE for a ~20-person senior strategic roundtable in the UNFCCC Blue Zone on clean energy investment.
Led by Sustainable Energy for All
Mobilising investment at scale remains an important challenge to accelerating the global energy transition, particularly in developing economies. Despite growing commitments to renewable energy, energy access and climate action, investment continues to be constrained by high costs of capital, perceived risks, limited project preparation and a shortage of concrete opportunities.
In partnership with Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), the proposed Energy Investor Roundtable will provide a platform to explore practical solutions for mobilising capital and accelerating investment in sustainable energy.
The roundtable will aim to:
Identify opportunities to mobilise public and private investment in sustainable energy.
Explore innovative financing mechanisms, including blended finance, guarantees and concessional capital, to reduce investment risks.
Connect investors with country-led energy transition priorities and bankable project pipelines.
Strengthen partnerships between investors, governments, development finance institutions and project developers.
Promote inclusive investment that advances energy access, economic development and a just energy transition.
Key questions that can be asked :
What are the main barriers preventing capital from flowing into sustainable energy projects, particularly in emerging and developing economies?
How can public and development finance be used more effectively to de-risk investments and mobilise private capital?
What would investors need to see to increase investment in underserved energy markets?
How can governments and development partners develop stronger, more bankable project pipelines?
How can investors ensure that energy transition financing delivers inclusive development and expanded energy access?
What concrete actions or partnerships could participants take forward following COP31?
