Building AI tools for the general public
Join us for an evening conversation about what it takes to build AI tools that real people actually use. Mtende Kuyokwa will be hosting Jeremiah for a deep dive into his work with data at Irembo in Rwanda, where digital services reach citizens across the country. He will share what it looked like to work with that data day to day, what challenges came up, and what lessons carry over to anyone building for a broad public audience.
From there, the conversation turns closer to home. We will talk about the state of data science in Malawi and why the country could be a goldilocks zone for machine learning, from the problems waiting to be solved to the room for newcomers to make their mark. If you have been curious about getting into data science yourself, Jeremiah will also walk through practical ways to get started, so you leave with a clear sense of where to begin. Bring your questions, because there will be time to ask them.
