Fall Board Game Sprint! (BoardSprints)
Fall Sprint 2026 (board game contest)
Note: The September 17th date is the last day you can register before we ship out the packages. No event actually happens at this time. If you are outside the US, please message us!
Only 30 spots available for this Sprint. If you are an artist or music designer, you can skip this step and jump to itch.io.
Sprints are quarterly board game design challenges built to spark your creativity and uncover the game designer in you like never before inside a mailed package. Each Sprint usually lasts one month and invites designers from around the world to create a brand-new tabletop game from a unique set of creative constraints — called Sparks.
Just like a cooking challenge with mystery ingredients, you'll get a list of requirements inside your package — such as a themed word like "Summer", a player count, a setting, and/or even a playful requirement like "must be created at a park while drinking lemonade." You will also get pieces that you must use at least one of in your game. You can use other pieces you have or want to buy as well.
Each Spark set is designed to help you explore new creative spaces, step outside your comfort zone, and practice rapid game design in a fun way.
Sprint Schedule:
* Sprint Start / Package Open Date: October 2nd
* Sprint End: October 15th
* Judging Period: October 16th - 25th
* Winners Announcement: October 28th
