More than a fireside chat, this is intended as a strategic exchange of ideas among peers on the opportunities, challenges, and collaborations needed to advance meaningful AI development across ASEAN.

Featuring two distinguished voices from the regional AI ecosystem, Dr Piti Srisangnam (Executive Director, ASEAN Foundation) and Mr Koo Sengmeng (Director of AI Talent & Ecosystem, AI Singapore), the conversation will explore:

Speakers & Panel
Dr. Piti Srisangnam is the Executive Director of the ASEAN Foundation, based in Jakarta, and a long-time faculty member at Chulalongkorn University, where he has taught International Economics and ASEAN Studies since 2002. He holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne and an MA from Chulalongkorn University, and previously led the university’s ASEAN Studies Center. His work focuses on regional economic integration, trade, and socio-economic development in Southeast Asia, with numerous publications and media contributions. A recognised thought leader, he has received several honours, including the 2019 Rising Star Royal Thai Government Scholarship Award, the 2021 Dongfang Scholarship at Peking University, and the 2023 Australian Alumni of the Year award.
Koo Sengmeng is the Director of AI Talent & Ecosystem at AI Singapore, where he leads initiatives to build a strong, sustainable AI talent pipeline through literacy, upskilling, and ecosystem development. With over 25 years of experience across public and private sectors, he has driven high-impact technology initiatives, including catalysing NVIDIA’s global AI Technology Centres and supporting the growth of companies like Garena (SEA Limited). He also contributes to national and international AI efforts, serving as Singapore’s co-chair at the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for AI standards. A recognised thought leader, Sengmeng has published research on AI adoption and talent development, and holds advanced degrees in Technology Management and Business Administration, along with multiple professional certifications.
