About Event

With the AI race heating up, much of the focus has been on AI capabilities and the potential positive and negative effects of an emerging artificial superintelligence (ASI). While the array of scenarios is almost unlimited, in this workshop, we will zoom in on an underexplored aspect which has the potential to draw broader lessons: AI and Animals.

Through diving into the co-creation of an animal welfare benchmark, the workshop lays out what kind of benchmarks exist, how a benchmark is created, how to mitigate LLM exam awareness and which aspects make a benchmark robust. Beyond that, there will be a discussion on the link from animal welfare to the potential consequences of ASI.

Join Safe AI Germany (SAIGE) to participate in the co-creation of an animal harm benchmark, and a discussion round on what A(S)I means for animal welfare and vice versa.

🎤 The speakers:
Bernice Bovenkerk: Professor at Wageningen University;
Christoph Krüger – PhD Candidate at Utrecht University;
Nathalie Muffels – PhD at Wageningen University.

Who should attend?
The session is highly recommended for researchers, policy makers, IT enthusiasts and students who are interested in benchmarking, animal welfare and post-ASI futures.
