About Event

Kape (coffee) is best served with chismis (gossip). Our scoop is all about the story of Filipino Americans living in Los Angeles. Brew your Sunday coffee with us this September 28, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at Cr8tive NYC to discuss The Latinos of Asia: How Filipino Americans Break the Rules of Race by Anthony Christian Ocampo.

We’ll gather in a circle to share our lived experiences related to the book, the lingering impact of colonialism, and how we can move forward towards community healing and finally, liberation. Bring your thoughts, reflections, and honest reactions as we sip our coffee and eat merienda (snacks). We will be sending out the discussion questions in advance via email.

We have limited space, so we encourage you to reserve your spot ASAP. Tickets are $15 to secure your place, including a $5 suggested donation will help cover future event expenses.

We can't wait to be in community with you!

With love,
Kathleen & Angelique
