Superintelligence internal deployment: Risks and governance recommendations
The most advanced future AI systems will first be deployed inside the frontier AI companies developing them. According to these companies and independent experts, AI systems may reach or even surpass human intelligence and capabilities by 2030. Internal deployment is, therefore, a key source of benefits and risks from the most capable AI systems.
In a talk discussing Apollo Research’s recent report “AI Behind Closed Doors,” Matteo Pistillo, Senior AI Governance Researcher, will address the absence of governance frameworks for the internal deployment of highly advanced AI systems.
He will present a conceptualization of internal deployment, share learnings from other sectors, review existing legal frameworks and their applicability, and provide illustrative examples of the scenarios of most significant concern.
