About Event

Returning in 2026 for a second year under the umbrella of Toronto Tech Week, this free event is designed for the staff of nonprofits, charities, shelters, and small businesses that are interested in improving their technology and security approaches and boosting their AI capacity safely.

Attendees will take part in an engaging seminar covering the technological threats that organizations face, how to prepare staff, and ways to anticipate and prevent future security compromises. A live workshop will be offered demonstrating AI uses for organizational fundraising efforts.

Our speakers bring years of experience working on tech teams for shelters, nonprofits, and government.

This event will be held in the evening at the George Chuvalo Neighbourhood Centre, where light refreshments will be offered.

Come out for a snack, a chat, and to meet your community!

Speakers

Jonathan Hutchinson, IT Systems, Hardware Support Specialist, Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre

Jonathan has experience running a small but mighty IT team of one at CONC, and at Foundation House (where he supported 12 social impact organizations, affectionately known as roomies), as well as building the technology team and approach as IT Manager at Venture for Canada (VFC) and the Avenue Road Arts School. When he’s not fixing devices at his 9-5, he is fixing devices 5-9 via Byte Repair, Repair Cafe, Free Geek Toronto, and Karma Co-op. He is often found at 192.168.0.1.

Micah Adler (JD | MA | BA), Founder & CEO, Anyone Can Fundraise

Micah helps nonprofits use the tools they already have to raise more money with less overhead. A former program director, campaign director, and settlement worker who spent 16 years in Toronto's nonprofit sector before joining Deloitte's fundraising services practice, he now builds practical AI tools for fundraising teams using platforms like Microsoft 365 Copilot, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Anthropic Claude, and ChatGPT. He has trained staff at community foundations and frontline nonprofits on everything from prospect research to donor intelligence, with one rule: if it does not save time on day one, it does not ship. When he is not building tools, he is probably on a bike or watching the Blue Jays.

Toronto Tech Week is a citywide celebration of the people building what’s next. From May 25–29, 2026, founders, investors, and builders come together for hundreds of community-led events across Toronto, connecting tens of thousands of people around Canadian tech. torontotechweek.com.
