BrainTech - The Next Big Opportunity - Learn from a VC
About the Session
We know more about the surface of Mars than about the organ reading this sentence. Close to 40% of the world's population lives with some form of neurological dysfunction, and the brain remains the least mapped system in medicine.
This session covers both halves of that problem. First, how venture capital actually works, taught plainly by a working VC. Second, why BrainTech/NeuroTech is drawing serious capital right now, and what separates a promising idea from a fundable company. Jargon demystified, and no question too basic.
Who Should Come
Anyone with an appetite for investing into rising VC sectors.
Operators and professionals curious about how venture works from the inside.
Anyone who has wondered what a limited partner is and how the money behind the money moves.
Clinicians, scientists, and builders drawn to the intersection of neuroscience and technology.
What You Will Walk Away With
A clear map of how a fund is structured, where LPs fit, and what check sizes, valuations, and dilution really mean.
A grounded view of BrainTech/NeuroTech: what is already FDA approved, what is being funded, and where the real markets are.
Candid answers, lunch, and a room small enough to actually talk in.

Speaker
Varun Turlapati
Managing Director, Chaanakya Capital
Varun went from manual QA testing in 2015 to running a venture fund, one of five to launch a fund out of a 2,000 person fellowship cohort. He invests in the braintech/neurotech, most investors overlook, from Alzheimer's wearables to bionic hands, and he is unusually direct about how the business actually works.
