Queens of Innovation Crown Table | Lessons Learned from Playing Sports Growing Up
As part of Goodie Nation’s Goodie FC initiative leading into this summer’s World Cup, Queens of Innovation is convening a powerful virtual conversation centered on the intersection of sports, identity, and leadership.
This session will bring together women across the Goodie Nation community who grew up playing sports - whether competitively or recreationally - to reflect on how those experiences have shaped their journeys as innovators and leaders.
Together, we’ll explore how early exposure to sports influenced confidence, decision-making, resilience, and leadership style - especially in spaces where women have historically had to navigate bias, underrepresentation, and unequal access.
We’ll unpack questions like:
How did playing sports shape your voice, confidence, and leadership presence?
What did teamwork, competition, and discipline teach you about navigating professional environments?
How have you translated lessons from the field into building teams, companies, and communities?
What unique insights do women bring to leadership because of their experiences in sports?
