​Using AI is a bit like speaking a foreign language. Some people pick it up naturally, and others feel an invisible barrier they are hesitant to cross. In reality, this barrier is very thin!

​I will prove it to you in this practical, hands-on session. You don’t need a technical background. Just bring your laptop! Any woman in business is welcome.

​Who’s teaching
I’m Alyona Medelyan. I discovered AI in 1998 and have worked in it for over 25 years. I have a PhD in AI from the University of Waikato, funded by Google. I’m the co-founder and CEO of Thematic, a software company that helps large enterprises understand and act on customer feedback. We went through Y Combinator in 2017. ​I’ve taught AI at the University of Waikato, run hands-on lectures and webinars for professional communities, and I know what it’s like to be one of the few women in a technical room. Other women business owners inspire me, and I’m passionate about helping women succeed in their professional lives.
