Koji Muto — CEO
Since 2012, Koji has been actively involved in the cryptocurrency industry as one of the early adopters who helped shape its formative years in Japan. He made early-stage investments in numerous crypto projects, including Ethereum and Cardano, and has promoted adoption and education not only in Japan but across Asia, including China and Singapore. From the industry’s inception, he has played a key role in expanding the market and cultivating the investor base.
In 2017, he founded Xtheta Inc., which obtained registration from Japan’s Financial Services Agency as a cryptocurrency exchange operator in December of the same year. The company was later rebranded as Sakura Exchange Bitcoin. In November 2022, following the transfer of the business to Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, he joined the management team as an Executive Officer and Head of New Business Development, leading strategic initiatives in the Japanese market.
He currently serves as a General Partner at Pacific Bays Capital, a venture capital fund focused on creating global unicorns in the deep tech sector.
Geoff Ayres - COO
GP Partner at Pacific Bays Capital and former Business Development Executive at a Hong Kong-based family office.
Responsible for business development and relationship management. Prior to the family office, was a founding member and Business Development Manager at INFORICH.
