About Event

What does it mean to recognize evil—not simply as something monstrous somewhere else, but as a force that can take hold of politics, culture, and ourselves?

Join theologian Matthew Fox and Lake Drive Books publisher David Morris for a live conversation about Fox’s book, Trump and the MAGA Movement as Antichrist: Recognizing the Archetype of Evil in Our Time, releasing on this date!

This will be more than a conversation about a book. As we head to the midterm election, Fox invites us to look beneath the daily churn of headlines and outrage and ask deeper questions: How do we recognize the patterns of deception, cruelty, domination, and idolatry that allow destructive movements to flourish? Why does naming evil matter? And how can we resist it without becoming consumed by hatred ourselves?

Drawing on Christian mystical and prophetic traditions—and a striking 500-year-old depiction of the Antichrist by Luca Signorelli—Fox argues that recognizing evil should lead not to despair or fear, but to moral clarity, courage, empowerment, and community.

Together, Fox and Morris will explore what this moment asks of us—and what we are choosing when we reject a politics built on fear, domination, and dehumanization.

This event will be recorded, but only the panelists.
