Building Bioeconomy Corridors for Bio-Based Agrifood Packaging
Join the AgriBioPack Kick-off Conference: Building Bioeconomy Corridors for Bio-Based Agrifood Packaging
AgriBioPack is bringing together agrifood and packaging companies, researchers, technology and solution providers, public and regional organisations, clusters, innovation intermediaries and other stakeholders to explore how territorial bioresources can be connected with market demand for bio-based packaging.
The conference will introduce the AgriBioPack project and its four value-chain areas - dairy and meat, fresh produce, fish and seafood, and takeaway and delivery - and explore how biological resources and agrifood side-streams can become inputs for new, higher-value bio-based packaging value chains.
At the heart of the event is the concept of a Bioeconomy Corridor: an organised value-chain pathway connecting a territorial bioresource with a viable bio-based packaging use. This means looking beyond an individual material or technology to consider the complete pathway - from supply, collection and processing, through material development and packaging production, to validation, demand, actors and agreements, infrastructure, investment and public support.
The conference will combine strategic discussions with practical exploration through a European Bioeconomy Solutions Marketplace, networking opportunities and an interactive Innovation Camp: Build a Bioeconomy Corridor.
During the Innovation Camp, participants will work in small groups to explore how a bioresource, a material pathway and a concrete packaging need can be connected into a viable value-chain pathway. Groups will identify what needs to be organised around this connection, including supply, processing, packaging production and validation, demand, actors and agreements, infrastructure, capabilities, investment and public support.
The aim is not to identify a single “correct” solution, but to build and compare possible corridor configurations and generate practical insights for the future work of AgriBioPack and its Local Transformation Hubs.
