About Event

Private practice offers freedom, flexibility, and autonomy, but for many of us, it also comes with an unexpected loneliness. Without colleagues nearby, spontaneous consultation, or shared meals, private practice therapists often find themselves carrying the weights of their clinical roles and running a business largely on their own.

This gathering is for any therapist who finds themselves:

• Missing the sense of community or hallway conversations of agency or group practice work
• Feeling professionally isolated, even when their caseload is full
• Wishing for more connection, collaboration, or shared processing with peers
• Struggling with the emotional load of being the only therapist in their workspace
• Navigating self-doubt, overthinking, or decision fatigue without a built-in support system
• Craving connection with colleagues who understand the realities of their work

Many therapists share the experience of being deeply connected to their clients, but as we know, these relationships are one-sided. And because the work we do is complex and often invisible, friends and family may not fully understand it.

This gathering offers space to acknowledge the hard parts of private practice while also making room for connection, humor, and the kind of lightness that only comes from being with people who truly understand the work.

This free workshop will be facilitated by MHM therapist Ann Dypiangco, LCSW.

Ann is a therapist with a passion for supporting both clients and clinicians navigating trauma, grief, and community-wide crises. She brings a trauma-informed lens to her work and believes deeply in the power of collective reflection, shared experience, and mutual support among therapists.  Ann also co-writes Therapist Brief, a weekly newsletter blending grounded research, tech trends, and thoughtful conversation for clinicians navigating the complexities of modern practice.
