​Seattle Women in Climate launched in July 2023 and our community has grown SO much over the past three years! Join us to celebrate our third birthday and a successful year of community building in support of Women in Climate within the Seattle area!

​What to Expect:

​Casual gathering of women-identifying and nonbinary folks passionate about climate change with a potluck style picnic. The event will be unstructured for informal conversation and outdoor activities.

​This is a casual event in a public park, so you can come and go at your leisure.

​What to Bring:

• ​Food / Beverages to share: Please bring shareable food, snacks or beverages. Please label your items with ingredients and any allergens, if possible! Not able to bring something to share? No sweat, we'd still love to have you!

• ​Plates/Utensils/Cups: Bring your own reusable plates/bowls, utensils, cups and water bottles. We will have a few spare paper plates and single-use utensils but help cut down our waste by bringing your reusables from home.

• ​Something to Sit on: Blankets and/or chairs are welcome to help make for a comfy picnic experience. We will have several but the more the merrier.

• ​Outdoor Activities: It's Seattle Summer so we are all in on the fun - have an outdoor game, craft or other activity you want to do with the group? Bring it along! Frisbee, spike ball & bocce to be provided, other activities are encouraged.

​​Where to Find Us:

​We will be hosting the picnic in Volunteer Park (which is pretty big). We will be near the Volunteer Park Amphitheater. We will update with more information on how to locate it as we get closer to the event!

​When you arrive, look for people in party hats - these SWiC leaders will officially check you into the event!

​Transportation: The closest Light Rail stop is Capital Hill which is a 20 minute walk away from the park. There are a plethora of bus lines (lines 10, 49, 9, 12) that drop you off much closer. If you're driving then we recommend carpooling and parking in the streets surrounding the park.

​About Seattle Women in Climate (SWiC): We are a local group that brings together women-identifying individuals across Greater Seattle who care about sustainability and building community. We host fun, hands-on events that spark curiosity, foster connections, and make climate action feel accessible, hopeful, and community-powered. We believe climate action should be collective, creative, multi-faceted and enjoyable.
