Ever feel like writing is just for “professionals” or tortured creatives?
Tired of dreary emails where you’re just “reverting to revert”?
Think writing is only for people who know what they’re doing?
Welcome to the 7th edition of Writing Hour by Unfold Margins — where we take writing less seriously and more curiously.
Think art jamming, but with words.
You don’t need to “be a writer.” You don’t even need to know what to write. Just bring yourself and your curiosity, and see where that leads you.
What to Expect:
A lightly guided, low-pressure creative writing and exploration session with
Surprise prompts tucked into envelopes from various literary references (that aren’t actually scary!)
Quiet ambience so you can focus
Pens, papers, stickers and stamps provided — or bring your own notebooks or laptops
Tea (sparkling or otherwise) + light snacks
Totally optional 1-2 lines of sharing at the end
Supportive company of people being creative together
💌 No critiques, just play
💫 Please come after you’ve had dinner! We’ll prepare some snacks, but they won’t be as filling as a full meal.
Psst — Returnee Perk ✨
Been to the last session? You get 5% off as a little thank-you for being there from the beginning 💌
(Limited to 3 spots — just DM me, I know who you are ♥️ )
About Your Host
Hello, I’m Georgia. I’ve been writing creatively for more than 15 years now, and one of my secret dreams has always been to host a little literary salon — a space for anyone who’s curious about words, random ideas, and creative writing.
I don’t think writing has to be this big, scary thing only “writers” do. Anyone can have fun with it, and learn and play with the craft of writing along the way.
Over the years, I’ve moderated for many a year during SingPoWriMo (Singapore Poetry Writing Month), volunteered as a photographer for the Singapore Writers Festival, and somehow snuck in a minor in creative writing with my English Literature degree. But I’ve mostly kept my creative writing tucked behind the scenes of my day jobs. This is me bringing it back into the light — and I’d love for you to join me.
