For Whom: All Creatives
Language: English

You have an endless to-do list. Projects to deliver, deadlines to meet, tasks to complete. But rarely do we stop and ask: how do we want our work to communicate?
Typography is often treated as a purely aesthetic choice, but it is much more than that. As designer Ellen Lupton famously said: “Typography is the visible part of language.” Every typeface carries meaning, tone, and cultural references that shape how messages are perceived.

In this online class, Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini, Co-founder and Creative Director of Zetafonts, introduces the fundamentals of typography, offering practical tools to help designers, creatives, and communicators make more conscious and effective typographic choices.

Starting from the basics, we’ll explore how type works, before diving into how typography conveys emotions, values, and identity.

What you will learn:

  • The essential principles of typography

  • How typefaces influence meaning, tone, and perception

  • The difference between serif, sans serif, and other classifications

  • How to choose fonts more consciously for branding and communication

Zetafonts is an independent type foundry with over twenty years of experience in designing and distributing typefaces worldwide. Known for combining expressive design with technical precision, the studio explores typography as both a cultural and strategic tool — helping brands, designers, and creatives communicate more effectively through type.
