Over Coffee: Two Weeks Across Singapore’s Resource Ecosystem
Over Coffee: Two Weeks Across Singapore’s Resource Ecosystem
Ashley Perez from the City of Orlando has spent two weeks in Singapore on a YSEALI Professional Fellows reciprocal exchange — sitting down with national agencies, listed developers, technology operators, social enterprises, community growers, universities, and volunteers to work out how this country actually gets people to take part in resource recovery, and how anyone measures whether it works.
On her last full day here, we’re sharing what came out of it. Over coffee.
What we’ll get into
• What we found across the ecosystem — where participation programmes work, where they quietly fail or suceed, and what the numbers say
• AI in the field: classifying recovered material during the programs, scoping yield measurement with community growers, and where the tooling held up and where it didn’t
• Singapore and Orlando side by side — what can we transfer
• The Resource Activation System: the participation framework we’ve been building and documenting throughout
The format
Deliberately informal. Just a deck, good coffee, and a conversation. We’d much rather this be a discussion than just a presentation, so come with questions.
Who this is for
YSEALI alumni, the partner organisations who hosted us across the two weeks, and anyone working on community participation, resource recovery or food systems here.
