Join us to embark on a Cultural Layover – a journey through all five senses that immerses you in Brazilian culture through sights, sounds, tastes, storytelling, and captivating interactive samba and capoeira performances.

​This intimate group experience in a private venue brings together people who love exploring different cultures — come with friends to make unique memories together, or come solo and make new friends!

​Itinerary

​7:00 PM – Doors Open + Welcome Drinks
Enjoy welcome drinks and mingle with fellow culturally curious attendees. We invite all guests to enter airplane mode — to focus on connecting in person and being offline during tonight’s journey.

​7:30 PM – Show Begins
You’ve now arrived in Rio! Hear about the country’s melting-pot heritage, Carnival traditions, and the cultural significance of tonight’s performances.

​7:45 PM – Samba Lesson & Performance
Feel the energy of a Carnival samba parade in the heart of NYC with Luciana da Silva, who has danced at the Sambadrome parade in Rio. Watch in awe, or join in as she teaches you samba steps to dance along with the rhythms of Brazil.

​8:15 PM – Tastes of Brazil
Sample light bites and drinks that introduce the flavors of Brazil. Learn the origin stories of Brazil's most popular dishes and receive a curated map of Brazilian restaurants in NYC to explore Brazilian regional specialties beyond this event.

​8:30 PM – Capoeira Lesson & Performance
Experience the dynamic art of capoeira, a powerful Afro-Brazilian martial art blended with dance and music. Instructors with 20 years of experience will demonstrate kicks, escapes, and acrobatics like cartwheels and handstands. You're invited to join in, or sit back and enjoy the live performance with capoeira instruments while you learn the choruses to traditional capoeira songs.
