Sierra Startup Social
Sierra Startup Social
Spend an evening with founders, builders, and mentors from across the Sierra foothills. Sierra Startup Social is a casual happy hour for anyone starting or growing a business in the region. Bring a project, a question, or just yourself. No pitch required.
Food will be provided.
We're meeting at La Mesa Tasting Room on Main Street in Sutter Creek, a family-run Amador County winery in the heart of historic downtown. Grab a glass, find a seat, and connect with the people building the next wave of companies in our region.
Featured founder: John Azevedo, Founder & CEO of Forager Fuels
John is building modular, relocatable bioenergy systems that turn forest waste into clean, low-carbon fuel while cutting wildfire risk and emissions across California. He has spent his career in sales and venture building, has worked alongside and mentored founders throughout the region, and knows the Sierra startup community firsthand. Come hear what he has learned building a hardware startup in the foothills, then stick around to talk shop.
Co-hosted by
City of Sutter Creek, the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Sacramento State, and the California Starters Coalition, powered by Right to Start, the nonpartisan organization working to make it easier for anyone to start and grow a business.
