What Is It
In 2023, ThriveHI launched TSTP in partnership with UH PACE as a career exploration opportunity to connect Hawaiʻi haumana with locally-based tech workers and entrepreneurs. We have now expanded this program to Kapiolani Community College (KCC). This is an opportunity for you to share about your job experience with local KCC students.
Our Why
For many of us growing up on the islands, hearing that someone’s parent was an engineer meant that they fixed submarines at Pearl Harbor. To this day, role models and mentors in high-paying jobs like software engineering, product management, and data science are still hard to find. It’s tough to aspire to a job that you’ve never heard of.
With a cost of living crisis, our keiki feel a real hunger to explore careers that will allow them to afford a life in Hawaiʻi. For many Hawaiʻi students, this event is one of their first or only opportunities to meet someone working in tech and imagine themselves in the industry.

Who Should Participate?
We are looking for folks that currently work in the tech sector. We are open to a wide variety of technical and non-technical roles (e.g., software engineer, product manager, sales, UX designer, marketing, communications, etc.)
