No words, only broken instruments
Let's explore communication through nonverbal sounds and music making.
Agenda:
How to be comfortable "speaking" non-verbally
Circle activities with our "instruments"
Harmonious sounds as a group
Instrument required:
Bring a unique makeshift instrument (e.g., paper plates, a leather shoe, a plastic bag full of paper, a pot, …). A proper instrument is fine too, but we will make it dysfunctional somehow (e.g., guitars will lose their tune).
Our motivations:
Music is super expressive. It makes us feel all kinds of emotions: sadness, joy, anger, excitement... Music doesn't have to be a perfectly recorded track on Spotify, it could be as simple as the rhymic beat of your footsteps or the ruffling sound of book pages. Come join us to explore how we can use mundane items to create expressive sounds and how our sounds can interact with each other.
If this works well, we'll turn it into a larger event.
Any level of musicianship is welcomed!
