Desi’s Got Latent: A Live Comedy Talent Show in Montreal
DESI’S GOT LATENT IS COMING TO MONTREAL 🎤
Montreal, we’re bringing the chaos your way.
After sold-out editions of Desi’s Got Latent, Dhama Productions is bringing the live comedy talent-show experience to Thanjai Restaurant on Friday, October 23.
This is not your typical stand-up comedy show.
It’s part talent show.
Part comedy panel.
Part roast.
Part social experiment.
And occasionally something we genuinely have no category for.
Talent? Confidence? Delusion?
We’ll find out live.
SO… WHAT IS DESI’S GOT LATENT?
Real people get on stage and show us what they’ve got.
Maybe it’s:
🎤 Stand-up comedy
🎶 Singing
🎭 Mimicry & impressions
📝 Poetry or storytelling
🎸 Music
🤹 A weirdly specific hidden talent
❓ Something none of us have ever seen before
Then our panel reacts.
They ask questions.
They give opinions.
They roast.
They investigate questionable life choices.
And sometimes they simply stare at the stage wondering:
“What exactly is happening right now?”
No edits.
No retakes.
No hiding behind a screen.
It all happens live.
THREE WAYS TO BE PART OF IT
You don’t have to experience Latent from the same side of the room.
Choose your level of chaos.
🎭 PERFORMER TICKET
Think you have a talent?
Or enough confidence to convince us that you do?
Get on stage.
Comedy. Singing. Poetry. Mimicry. Storytelling. Music. Something bizarre.
Bring whatever you’ve got.
Performer spots are limited, so make sure you select a Performer Ticket if you want your moment on stage.
🎤 PANELIST TICKET
Maybe performing isn’t your thing.
Maybe having opinions about performers is.
We respect that.
Join the panel and become part of the show.
Ask questions.
React.
Give your opinion.
Join the banter.
And occasionally help us determine whether what just happened was talent, confidence or pure delusion.
If you’ve ever watched a talent show and thought:
“I could judge this better.”
Now’s your chance.
😂 AUDIENCE TICKET
Want none of that responsibility?
Also completely valid.
Grab an audience ticket, sit back and watch everything unfold.
You watch.
You laugh.
You react.
You judge quietly.
Or loudly.
Either way, you’re part of the room.
THE PANEL
Our panel isn’t here to politely clap and move on.
Expect:
Opinions.
Questions.
Roasts.
Reactions.
Unexpected follow-ups.
And questionable advice.
The performers bring the talent.
The panel brings the commentary.
The audience brings the energy.
Together?
Absolute chaos.
NO TWO LATENT SHOWS ARE THE SAME
That’s what makes this format fun.
We genuinely don’t know who is going to walk onto the stage or exactly what they’re going to do.
You could see an incredible singer.
A hilarious comedian.
A bizarre impression.
A surprisingly moving story.
A hidden talent you didn't know existed.
Or something that makes the entire room collectively go:
“…okay.”
And five minutes later?
Someone completely different walks on stage.
📍 MONTREAL, THIS ONE’S FOR YOU
Dhama has been taking Desi comedy beyond Toronto, bringing comics, audiences and different formats together across cities.
Now Desi’s Got Latent gets its Montreal night.
Come perform.
Come judge.
Or come watch other people willingly put themselves in front of a live audience.
Honestly, the third option sounds pretty relaxing.

WHO SHOULD COME?
Come if you love:
Desi comedy
Indian comedy

Crowd participation
Music and live performances
Comedians with unnecessary opinions
Unexpected talents
Or simply watching someone confidently walk onto a stage without knowing whether the room is about to applaud or ask questions.
You’ll fit right in.
THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL COMEDY SHOW.
There are performers.
There’s a panel.
There’s an audience.
And then there’s whatever happens once you put all three in the same room.

Real talents. Real people. Real chaos.
