About Event

In 2007, Seedcamp launched Europe's first seed fund with just €2.1M. Two decades later, its earliest checks became Revolut, Wise and Synthesia. Now with its newest fund (Select), Seedcamp plans to continue backing its portfolio through Series B and beyond.

Join us for a conversation with Will Bennett, Principal at Seedcamp — Europe's first seed fund, which has backed 550+ companies from their earliest check — including Revolut, Wise, UiPath and Synthesia — producing 12 unicorns, $150B+ in portfolio worth and 6 IPOs.

With its new $320M fund, the firm now writes ~$1M first checks and follows on with $3–5M checks through Series B and later. In this session, we focus on the following:

  • The Seedcamp Thesis — How Seedcamp builds conviction pre-product and pre-revenue, and what separates the founders who get funded from those who don't;

  • Earning the Follow-On — What changes between the first check and Series B, and the signals that make investors double down — or not;

  • Before They Were Obvious — What Revolut, Wise and UiPath had in common at first check, and what that means for founders raising today.

There'll be time for Q&A at the end. Most useful for founders at every stage — from first raise to Series B — and anyone curious about how investors evaluate companies across the entire journey.

Speakers:

  • Will Bennett: Will is a Principal at Seedcamp, part of the firm's seven-person investment team investing in founders across Europe from their earliest check. He joined in 2023 after operating at one of the UK's fastest-growing startups, and fronted the announcement of Seedcamp's new $320M fund earlier this year.
