About Event

Global tech PR firm Archetype and GV (formerly Google Ventures) are hosting a media and communications networking event that brings together the top voices in the semiconductor and computing industries for a night of insider conversations and connections.

In addition to meeting with journalists, tech execs, and business leaders, we’ve curated a program to explore timely topics shaping our industry.

  • 5:30 - 6:30 PM: Registration and networking

  • 6:30 - 7:10 PM: Panel A: From Giant to Underdog and the Semiconductor Industry’s Next Era – includes audience Q&A

  • 7:10 - 7:20 PM: Break

  • 7:20 - 8:00 PM: Panel B: Beyond Silicon: On the Cutting Edge of Compute – includes Q&A

  • 8:00 - 9:30 PM: Networking

Panel: From Giant to Underdog and the Semiconductor Industry’s Next Era: Market shifts can quickly create openings for new players and challengers, redefining leadership and reshaping legacy brands. Intel’s evolving story offers an example of how even tech titans can be tested by changing technology cycles, rising competition, and missed opportunities.

In this panel, top journalists who have chronicled decades of semiconductor industry shifts will break down how the rise of mobile, AI, and custom silicon transformed the competitive landscape, and what Intel’s journey reveals about adaptability, brand relevance, and the narratives that shape public and investor perception. This isn’t just a panel about chips – it’s about how power dynamics shift, and how companies respond.

Panelists:

  • Don Clark, The New York Times

  • John Markoff, former The New York Times journalist

  • Ashlee Vance, Core Memory

  • Moderated by Leslie Berlin, Executive Director, Steve Jobs Archive

Panel: Beyond Silicon: On the Cutting Edge of Compute
As Moore’s Law slows and traditional silicon architectures strain under the weight of AI and exponential compute demands, the industry stands at a pivotal moment. We’re bringing together leaders from groundbreaking companies to explore the emerging frontier of computation.

This panel will investigate not only how we will scale existing architectures, but also how entirely new paradigms – quantum, photonics, and hybrid compute frameworks – will redefine performance, energy efficiency, and capability.

Panelists:

  • Nicholas Harris, founder & CEO, Lightmatter

  • Tim Davis, co-founder & President, Modular

  • Dr. Pete Shadbolt, co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer, PsiQuantum

  • Dave Munichiello, Managing Partner, GV

  • Moderated by Lauren Goode, WIRED

**Please note: by registering and attending the event, you consent to be photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded and to the release, publication, exhibition or reproduction of any and all recorded media of your appearance for use on Archetype's website, social media, news, and advertising.

***Getting to the venue:
Office: We are located on the 2nd fl. of the Ferry Building (1 Ferry Building, Suite 255, San Francisco, CA 94105)

To reach our office, walk up the "historic steps", located under the clock tower in the center exterior of the building. There is an elevator to the left side of the steps, if needed.

Upon arriving on the 2nd floor rotunda, say hello to our lobby security & let them know you are here to visit GV (Google Ventures). Continue walking straight, and our office is slightly to the right. Please check in with our receptionist upon arrival.

Parking: There is no dedicated parking area at the Ferry Building, below are a couple of options for nearby lots:

  • Four Embarcadero Center - Lot #77: 4 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, garage below ground, enter and exit from Clay St.

  • Ferry Building Parking - Lot #221: 221 the Embarcadero N., San Francisco, outdoor lot.

Parking can be difficult in the Embarcadero area - public transportation or Uber, Lyft, or Taxi are great alternatives to driving.
